2. Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, you need:

  • Education: A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.

  • Experience: Previous experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM), logistics, or procurement is highly advantageous.

  • Knowledge: * Basic knowledge of the PFMA (Public Finance Management Act) and Treasury Regulations.

    • Understanding of SCM processes (Demand, Acquisition, and Logistics).

  • Skills: * Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for tracking).

    • Good numerical and analytical skills.

    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work with specialized government systems (e.g., LOGIS or BAS).


3. Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Support: Assisting with the sourcing of quotations and the processing of purchase requisitions.

  • Order Management: Generating purchase orders and ensuring they are sent to suppliers timeously.

  • Logistics & Stores: Receiving goods, checking them against delivery notes, and ensuring correct storage or distribution.

  • Database Maintenance: Updating the Central Supplier Database (CSD) records and maintaining accurate filing of SCM documents.

  • Reporting: Assisting with the preparation of monthly reports on procurement spend and inventory levels.

  • Compliance: Ensuring all procurement activities adhere to the department’s SCM policy and government regulations.
