Programme Overview

This learnership is designed to assist the Executive Chef in the complete running of the kitchen, including administrative and operational activities. It offers a structured path for graduates to gain hands-on experience in a professional hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Production: Prepare and produce food according to set standards.

  • Inventory Control: Monitor and control kitchen stock.

  • Administration: Perform administrative duties and assist in the implementation of ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) standards.

  • Customer Service: Provide professional service to all guests and clients.

  • Health & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety requirements in the kitchen and dining areas.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: * National Diploma or National N Diploma in Catering Management, Hospitality and Catering Services, or a Hotel School Qualification.

    • Must be at NQF Level 6 with a minimum of 240 credits.

  • Experience: No prior experience is required (Entry-level).
