Role Purpose
The Sales Assistant provides operational support to the Salesman Driver. This hands-on role involves vehicle loading, stock delivery, customer interaction, and cash collection, ensuring that Blue Ribbon and Premier products reach customers efficiently and on time.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management: Check products against the loading sheet to ensure quantities are correct; sign off on loads before departure.
Delivery Operations: Assist in the offloading of products at customer premises, ensuring no damage occurs.
Punctuality: Ensure loading is completed on time to meet scheduled departure and delivery targets.
Financial Duties: Collect cash payments from customers where applicable and perform daily cash-ins according to company procedures.
Equipment & Safety: Collect and manage empty bread trays; ensure the delivery vehicle remains clean and hygienic; report any accidents or defects immediately.
Customer Service: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through professional communication and reliable service.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
Licenses:
Valid Code 10 / C1 Driver’s License.
Professional Driving Permit (PDP) that is at least three years old.
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a sales or retail environment is preferred.
Key Skills & Attributes
Numerical Skills: Ability to check stock quantities and handle cash accurately.
Physical Fitness: Energetic and comfortable with physical activity (loading/offloading).
Communication: Clear verbal and written skills; assertiveness and confidence when handling queries.
