Programme Purpose
This learnership is designed to provide dynamic, self-motivated young candidates with the opportunity to gain a full qualification in Chemical Operations. The program follows the standards set by the South African Government, CHIETA (Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority), and NAMB.
Key Responsibilities
Theoretical Training: Attend all prescribed theoretical classes at the accredited Omnia Technical Training Centre.
Workplace Experience: Obtain practical, on-the-job plant training at the Omnia Fertilizer Sasolburg site under the guidance of an experienced coach.
Shift Work: Participate in practical exposure on a continuous shift basis.
Assessment: Successfully complete theoretical and practical assessment activities and maintain an updated Portfolio of Evidence (POE).
Minimum Requirements
Education: Grade 12 (Matric) with a pass in:
Mathematics (Pure Mathematics is usually required over Math Literacy).
Physical Science.
English Language.
Age: Typically between 18 and 26 years old.
Health: Must be declared medically fit for a chemical plant environment.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical: High concentration levels, attention to detail, and numerical accuracy.
Safety: Strict adherence to safety requirements and rigid performance standards.
Personal: High energy levels, self-motivated, and good interpersonal skills.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
