Location: Various sites across Johannesburg (Newtown, various museums)

Duration: Up to 18 Months

Stipend: R10,109.86 per month (no additional benefits)

Available Internship Streams

  1. Immovable Heritage (x2 posts)

    • Qualification: National Diploma in Heritage Studies, Fine Art, or Public Administration.

    • Focus: Street/place naming, public art coordination, and heritage site preservation.

  2. Museums and Galleries (x6 posts)

    • Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Conservation, Heritage, or Curatorial Studies.

    • Focus: Collection management, exhibition tours, and curatorial services.

  3. Arts and Culture (x4 posts)

    • Qualification: Public Administration, Policy Studies, or Arts Administration.

    • Focus: Creative industries, strategic cultural planning, and project implementation.

  4. Information Services (x2 posts)

    • Qualification: Graphic Design or Photography.

    • Focus: Digitization of collections, metadata tagging, and digital archiving.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Residency: Must be a resident of the City of Johannesburg (CoJ).

  • Age: Targeted at unemployed youth.

  • Education: Minimum NQF Level 6 qualification (Diploma/Degree) in the relevant field.

  • Experience: Must have no prior internship experience and never have participated in a previous CoJ internship.
