Purpose of the Programme
The ELIDZ internship is designed for unemployed South African graduates who require workplace exposure to bridge the gap between academic theory and formal employment. Interns are placed within technical, operational, and strategic units of the organization.
Available Fields of Study
Internships are available across a diverse range of disciplines, including:
Engineering: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical (Maintenance/Facilities), and Mechatronics.
ICT & Data: Information Technology, Software Development, Data Science, Informatics, and Business Information Systems.
Business & Admin: Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Records Management, Office Administration, and Project Portfolio Management.
Sciences: Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Food Technology.
Economics: Agricultural Economics, General Economics, and Industrial Development.
Safety: Safety Management and Knowledge Management.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must meet the following:
Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
Age: Between 18 and 35 years.
Education: Must have completed a relevant National Diploma or Degree in one of the listed fields (Current full-time students are not eligible).
Experience: Must be unemployed and have no previous work experience in their field of study.
Prior Participation: Must not have participated in any previous internship programme.
Residency: Preference is given to applicants residing within the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.
Key Conditions
This is a fixed-term agreement and does not constitute permanent employment.
Interns will be under professional supervision aligned with their departmental needs.
