Minimum Requirements
- Recognised Fitter and Turner qualification
- N3 Certificate
- Completed apprenticeship in the relevant trade
- Valid Trade Test Certificate
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Fitter and Turner
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Experience with gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems is advantageous
Main Duties
- Perform routine inspections on mechanical equipment
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults
- Replace and maintain defective mechanical components
- Carry out fitting and welding activities
- Manufacture and repair components using lathes and milling machines
- Interpret technical drawings and engineering measurements
- Install, assemble, test, and commission mechanical equipment
- Maintain maintenance records and report recurring defects
- Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
