Candidate Requirements
Minimum qualification: Grade 10 (Std 8) or equivalent
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
No prior experience required
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for long periods
Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation procedures beneficial
Key Responsibilities
Clean, pack, and sterilise surgical instruments and linen
Operate autoclaves and other sterilisation equipment
Maintain accurate records of sterilised items
Monitor stock levels of sterile supplies
Ensure compliance with hospital infection‑control standards
Assist with distribution of sterile packs to wards and theatres
Skills Gained
Practical knowledge of hospital sterilisation processes
Exposure to infection‑control protocols
Teamwork in a high‑pressure medical environment
