Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 plus relevant tertiary qualification (BCom, National Diploma in Accounting, Internal Auditing, Local Government Finance, Public Finance, N6 Financial Management).

  • Residency: Must be a resident of Johannesburg.

  • Eligibility: Preferably no prior internship in the same field.

Duties & Exposure

Interns will gain practical experience in municipal finance, including:

  • Asset management

  • Income & revenue management

  • Accounting & budgeting

  • Supply chain management

  • Capital management

  • Financial reporting

  • Data capturing & administration

Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical thinking & problem-solving

  • Financial research skills

  • Report writing & negotiation

  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of GRAP standards, Batho Pele Principles, ethics & professionalism
