Minimum Requirements
Education: Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics & Science
Technical: N2 Electrical Trade Theory or equivalent certificate
Experience: Minimum 2 years as an Electrical Assistant in mining (preferably underground)
Advantageous:
Flameproof Certificate
Gas Testing Certificate
Valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence
MHSA Compliance: Must hold or obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist artisans with electrical maintenance and repairs underground
Support installation, inspection, and fault-finding on mining equipment
Participate in preventative and planned maintenance programmes
Maintain tools, equipment, and housekeeping standards
Report unsafe conditions or defective equipment immediately
Follow mine safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
Contribute to improving equipment reliability and operational efficiency
