Minimum Requirements

A completed Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
0 to 1 year of formal experience in a customer-facing or administrative processing role.
Core Legislative Awareness: Foundational knowledge of the Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA), Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act (UICA), and Public Service Regulations.
Service Principles: Strong alignment with the Batho Pele Principles (Customer First approach) and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) for data handling.
Core Competencies: Interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, telephone etiquette, and systematic data capturing.
Software Skills: Basic computer literacy (MS Office suite) and a high level of comfort navigating administrative database systems.
Language Proficiency: Strong verbal and written English communication skills (multilingualism is a major advantage for frontline customer service).
Key Responsibilities & Core Duties
Rendering efficient frontline client support services by receiving, screening, and handling general public enquiries regarding UIF benefits.
Verifying, processing, and capturing employer registrations, employee declarations, and claims data accurately onto the department's database systems.
Assisting clients with the completion of necessary UIF documentation, application forms, and troubleshooting automated user profile bottlenecks.
Investigating basic claim anomalies, tracing missing employment declarations, and escalations to back-office assessors.
Maintaining up-to-date physical and digital verification trails, archiving correspondence, and executing daily administrative tasks under strict timelines.
