2. Learnership Responsibilities

Participants will receive hands-on training and be responsible for:

  • Plant Care & Maintenance: Soil preparation, planting, pruning, fertilizing, and managing irrigation systems.

  • Propagation: Learning techniques for growing plants from seeds and cuttings in a nursery environment.

  • Pest & Weed Control: Managing invasive species and pests using both manual and chemical methods.

  • Health & Safety: Adhering to strict environmental and safety standards while operating machinery and tools.

  • Physical Work: Performing outdoor tasks that require physical fitness and stamina.


3. Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for this learnership, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate (Matric) or equivalent (NQF Level 4).

  • Age: Must be between 18 and 35 years old.

  • Residency: Must reside within the City of Johannesburg or surrounding regions.

  • Skills: Basic literacy, strong communication skills, and a fundamental understanding of safety principles.
