Key Responsibilities
Access Control: Controlling entry of people and vehicles into police premises; conducting searches and identity verification.
Patrol & Guarding: Conducting patrols of buildings and secured areas; guarding state property and equipment.
Monitoring: Observing security equipment and reporting faults; registering visitors and monitoring access cards.
Minimum Requirements
Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
Education: Grade 10 (Standard 8) or equivalent NQF Level 3 qualification.
Registration: Registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
Certification: Hold at least a Grade C Security Certificate or higher.
Legal: No previous criminal convictions or pending cases; not declared unfit to possess a firearm.
Skills: Proficient in at least two official languages (English must be one).
Physical/Flexibility: Willing to undergo firearm competency training and work shifts/extended hours.
