Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- At least 50% in Mathematics OR 60% in Mathematical Literacy.
- At least 50% in English.
- Pass in Life Science (Biology) or Physics.
- Willingness to enter into a work-back agreement after qualification.
Learnership Overview
This programme allows learners to work and study at the same time while completing pharmacy assistance qualifications through the accredited Pharmacy Healthcare Academy. The learnership consists of both theoretical training and practical workplace experience in a registered Unicare pharmacy.
Qualifications to be Completed
- National Certificate: Pharmacy Assistance (Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant).
- Further Education and Training Certificate: Pharmacist Assistance (Learner Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant).
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all learnership training requirements.
- Attend training interventions and competency assessments.
- Submit a Portfolio of Evidence.
- Provide support to the healthcare team under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Adhere to the legal scope of practice set by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Follow workplace procedures and professional standards.
