Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen

  • From a disadvantaged background or rural community

  • Currently in Matric or completed Matric

  • Studying/intending to study full-time at a recognised South African university

  • BSc applicants: Level 5 (60–69%) in Mathematics and Physical Science or Geography

  • Diploma/Degree applicants: Level 4 (50–59%) in Mathematics and Physical Science

  • Not a staff member of the department

Application Process

  1. Prepare certified copies of ID, Matric certificate, and latest academic transcript.

  2. Complete the bursary application form via the DLRRD Bursary Portal.

  4. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.

This bursary is designed to build skills in land surveying, GIS, and town planning, helping rural learners access careers in land reform and rural development.
