Role Purpose
Plant Operators ensure that power station equipment operates safely and efficiently. They monitor plant performance, carry out routine operational tasks, and support continuous electricity generation.
Key Responsibilities
Operate allocated plant equipment safely and efficiently
Monitor plant performance during operations
Follow Eskom operating procedures and safety regulations
Perform routine operational inspections
Report equipment faults or operational issues
Guide and oversee learner plant operators
Maintain accurate operational records
Support supervisors with operational activities
Minimum Requirements
Education:
NQF Level 1 / ABET Level 4 (internal), OR
Grade 12 / N3 with Mathematics & Science
Plus: NQF Level 3 National Certificate in Power Plant Auxiliary Systems Operations
Experience: At least 1 year as a learner plant operator
