Purpose of the Job
The successful candidate will provide second-level support services for specific application systems. This includes assisting users, resolving application-related problems, supporting system testing, and ensuring that services are delivered according to agreed service-level requirements.
The role requires someone who can work with users, understand system issues, provide practical support, and help keep important application systems running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
The appointed candidate will be expected to:
- Troubleshoot calls logged on the call logging system.
- Assist clients with application faults and application availability issues.
- Perform functional user acceptance testing and system testing under supervision.
- Provide advice or training to users on application system functionality.
- Update user procedure manuals, online help guides, and related documentation.
- Provide information support to clients and supervisors.
- Support the smooth running of application systems used by the department.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have one of the following:
- A 1–2 year National Certificate in Information Technology at NQF Level 5, or accredited specialised courses.
OR
- Grade 12 with 3–4 years of Functional Application Support experience on the specific DOD OSIS.
Applicants must also have 3–4 years of Functional Application Support experience on the DOD Operational Support Information System.
