Minimum Requirements

To protect public road safety and meet the strict logistics standards of Africa's largest retailer, candidates must meet the following criteria:
A completed Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
A valid South African Code EC (old Code 14) Driver’s License.
A valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) for goods/passengers.
Clean driving record with zero active traffic offenses or serious incidents.
South African citizen aged 18 to 35 years.
Currently unemployed and not enrolled in any full-time academic studies.
Good communication skills (ability to read, write, and speak English for route tracking and delivery logs).
Physical fitness and excellent depth perception required to operate heavy commercial vehicles under long-distance shift patterns.
High level of commitment to completing all theoretical classroom modules and compiling workplace logbooks.

Key Responsibilities & Training Exposure
Learners undergo intensive professional development, combining classroom instruction with real-world distribution tracking:
Participating in structural training modules to obtain a nationally recognized NQF Level 3 Professional Driving qualification.
Mastering the mechanics of fuel-efficient driving, heavy vehicle dynamics, and advanced defensive driving maneuvers.
Assisting qualified drivers with long-haul routes and multi-stop deliveries to Shoprite, Checkers, and Usave stores.
Learning to navigate advanced on-board logistical tracking computers, route scheduling apps, and fleet telematics software.
Inspecting vehicles systematically before and after trips, checking fluid levels, tire pressures, and brake lines against safety checklists.
Managing delivery invoices, proof-of-delivery (POD) documents, and reporting route delays or mechanical anomalies to the dispatch yard controller immediately.
Ensuring absolute compliance with National Road Traffic regulations and strict retail cold-chain temperature safety protocols.
