Minimum Requirements

To step onto the fast-paced retail floor of Footgear, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:
A completed Grade 12 (Matric) certificate OR a relevant NCV Level 4 / TVET National Diploma in Retail Management, Business Management, or Marketing looking for practical workplace exposure.
Unemployed South African youth between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
Basic numerical accuracy and computer literacy for navigating electronic point-of-sale (POS) environments.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English (multilingualism is a major asset for regional branch operations).
High physical stamina and energy to operate efficiently in a high-volume retail floor setting (extended standing, moving stock boxes, and packing displays).
A vibrant, customer-first attitude with a genuine passion for footwear trends, street style, and customer service.
Clear criminal record (standard corporate retail background tracking checks apply).

Key Responsibilities & Learning Exposure

Interns rotate through core store operational workflows to master modern retail and inventory management mechanics:
Assisting store visitors with product inquiries, locating correct footwear sizes, explaining product features, and driving sales conversions.
Merchandising stock on the floor, ensuring precise price-tag displays, and setting up visual promotional layouts according to brand guidelines.
Processing financial transactions at the till point—handling cash receipts, card payments, and executing precise balancing protocols.
Managing stockroom inventory arrays—receiving bulk distributions, unpacking crates, checking barcodes, and running stock tracking counts to prevent shrinkage.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and highly organized store environment in alignment with internal health and safety frameworks.
