5. Important Advice for 2026

  • The Logbook: Your main goal is to get your Diploma. Ensure your supervisor at PSIRA understands your college's logbook requirements so you can complete your tasks on time.

  • Clean Record: Since PSIRA regulates the security industry, they have a zero-tolerance policy for criminal records. Ensure your background is clear before applying.

  • Professionalism: PSIRA is a regulatory body. In your interview, demonstrate a high level of discipline and an understanding of the Private Security Industry Regulation Act.

  • Regional Preference: While the Head Office is in Centurion, PSIRA has offices in Mthatha, Polokwane, Durban, and Cape Town. If you are applying for a regional office, highlight your local residency.

6. Why Join PSIRA?

  • Industry Authority: You will be working for the body that governs all security in South Africa—from bouncers to high-level armed response.

  • Diploma Completion: This is a guaranteed path to moving from an "N6 student" to a "Qualified National Diploma holder."

  • Government Exposure: You will gain experience in public sector administration, which is highly valuable for future government job applications.

Tip: If you have a PSIRA Grade certificate (Grade E, D, or C) already, mention it! Even though you are applying for an office role, knowing the industry you are regulating from the inside is a massive advantage.
