Employer: Mogale City Local Municipality (in partnership with the DFFE)

Location: Mogale City, Gauteng (West Rand)

Duration: 5 Months (Fixed-term)

Remuneration

  • Stipend: R271.04 per day (following national EPWP guidelines).

Programme Purpose

This programme aims to provide practical workplace exposure to unemployed South African graduates while supporting environmental protection, urban greening, and community education within Mogale City.

Available Positions & Fields

  • Environmental Education & Awareness (3 Posts): Design education programmes and promote sustainable practices.

  • Climate Change Programmes (3 Posts): Support mitigation and adaptation projects.

  • Environmental Compliance Promotion (3 Posts): Field inspections and data collection.

  • Landscaping and Urban Design (3 Posts): Focus on municipal greening strategies.

  • By-Law Enforcement Support (9 Posts): Monitor illegal dumping, recycling support, and inspections.

  • Urban Greening and Horticulture (4 Posts): Tree planting and beautification initiatives.

  • Environmental Health (3 Posts): Waste management analysis and compliance reporting.

  • Administration Support (2 Posts): Office management and project coordination.

  • Nature Conservation (1 Post): Biodiversity assessments and reporting.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Matric plus three years of study (M+3/Diploma/Degree) in:

    • Environmental Studies / Science

    • Biodiversity and Conservation

    • Forestry / Air Quality

    • Landscaping and Horticulture

    • By-Law Enforcement / Environmental Health

  • Age: 18 to 35 years.

  • Citizenship: South African citizens only.

  • Residency: Preference is given to Mogale City residents.

  • Inclusivity: Youth with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
