2. Key Responsibilities

Interns will be rotated through various financial departments to gain experience in:

  • Billing & Revenue: Assisting with municipal rates, service charges, and cashiering duties.

  • Customer Care: Handling financial queries and complaints from residents.

  • Reporting: Completing National Treasury reporting templates and financial reconciliations.

  • Supply Chain Management (SCM): Practical exposure to municipal procurement and expenditure.

  • Asset Management: Learning to track and report on municipal assets.

  • Auditing & Risk: Supporting internal audit and risk management functions.


3. Minimum Requirements

  • Education: A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) with majors in:

    • Accounting

    • Economics

    • Finance

    • Risk Management

    • Auditing

  • Status: Must be an unemployed graduate.

  • Residency: Preference is given to applicants residing within the Midvaal Local Municipality area.

  • Skills: Computer literacy (especially MS Excel) and strong communication skills.

  • Driver’s License: A valid license and access to transport is preferred but not mandatory.
