Administration Clerk: Production Vacancy at Department of Defence (Western Cape)

 The Department of Defence (DOD) is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Administration Clerk: Production within the Directorate: Human Resource Career Management (PSAP). Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate (NQF Level 4)
  • No previous work experience required

Skills and Competencies

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong client orientation
  • Computer literacy in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Knowledge of the PSAP Personnel Practice System
  • Knowledge of PSAP Personnel Maintenance
  • Understanding of Human Resource prescripts
  • Qualification and experience in the PERSOL system will be essential

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidate will provide high-level clerical and administrative support to Provisioning Administration Officers, particularly within logistics and supply support environments. Key duties include:

  • Preserving, storing, and maintaining military stock and items
  • Coordinating maintenance of stock with relevant experts
  • Updating data registers for stock received, issued, and outstanding
  • Assisting with stocktaking and inventory control
  • Ensuring warehouses and storage facilities are neat, secure, and well maintained
  • Following up on outstanding demands and provisioning actions
  • Updating provisioning parameters on all ICNs
  • Scrutinising, printing, and processing PA documentation
  • Assisting with demand and purchasing processes
  • Supporting the disposal and safeguarding of stores
  • Providing accurate feedback on stock statistics and reports
  • Determining future stock levels based on operational needs
  • Binning, cleaning, issuing, and receiving stock
  • Evaluating operational readiness requirements of the Base or relevant sections
