2. Key Responsibilities
Transport Operations: Collect and deliver linen, food, and other supplies to and from health facilities.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily inspections (oil, water, tires) and ensure the vehicle is clean and roadworthy.
Loading & Unloading: Oversee or assist with the safe loading and off-loading of heavy cargo.
Logistics Admin: Accurately complete logbooks, trip sheets, and delivery notes.
Compliance: Adhere strictly to the Road Traffic Act and government safety regulations.
Reporting: Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or delays to the transport officer immediately.
3. Minimum Requirements
Education: Grade 10 / NQF Level 2 (Matric/Grade 12 is often an advantage).
Licence: Valid Code C1 or EC Driver’s Licence with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
Experience: 2–5 years of experience driving heavy vehicles, preferably in a corporate or government environment.
Knowledge: Familiarity with the Gauteng provincial routes and basic vehicle mechanics.
Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to work shifts (including weekends and holidays).
