Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID number.
- Must be 30 years old or younger when applying for the first time.
- Must demonstrate a strong academic record.
- Be enthusiastic about a teaching career and willing to work with young people.
- Must be committed to teaching in any school as placed by a Provincial Education Department (PED).
- Must be accepted into an approved B.Ed. degree or PGCE programme at a public university.
- Must specialise in two or more priority subjects.
How to Apply
- Open the e-Gov portal at www.eservices.gov.za.
- Register by providing personal information.
- Login using your username and password created during registration.
- Select Funza Lushaka Bursary Scheme from the e-Services Menu.
- Enter the OTP received on your preferred channel.
- Accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Click on the 2026 application button on the dashboard.
- Complete all required fields with accurate information.
- Accept the declaration to confirm the information captured.

Important Notes
- The bursary does not cover extended programmes.
- You are responsible for your own registration fees while awaiting the application outcome.
- Late applications will not be considered.
