Averda is a leader in Waste Management, dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety for our employees. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Occupational Health and Safety Intern to join our team and help us continue our mission
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments.
- Participate in safety training sessions and workshops.
- Support the investigation of workplace incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain and update safety records and documentation.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety

What We’re Looking For:
- Graduates with National Diploma in Environmental Management
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in the Waste industry is advantageous
- A certificate in Health and Safety Training (Samtrac, Nebosh) would be an advantage would be advantageous
- Language | English, Xhosa
