Apex Hedge Fund Accountant Trainee Programme 2023
The successful candidate joining the Apex Hedge Fund Accountant Trainee Programm 2023 intake will be part of the Fund Accounting Division reporting directly to a manager. The main responsibility of the trainee is to prepare accurate portfolio valuations including managing account records for designated funds (e.g. offshore, domestic, partnerships, hedge funds, etc.).
Key duties and responsibilities
- Liaise with fund managers, custodians, and brokers to share information and resolve problems
- Reconcile custodian and broker accounts
- Prepare and manage standard operating procedures
- Develop excellent client relations and deliver high quality productivity and service
- Provide assistance to external auditors to make sure audits are performed efficiently and on a timely basis
- Carry out other ad hoc responsibilities as per supervisor’s request
Who should apply?

- Holds a Commerce diploma or degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Background in the hedge fund industry is a definite plus
- Outstanding teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Knows how to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills in the finance industry
- Sound knowledge of financial reporting and regulatory regimes and IFRS
- Strong managerial skills; knows how to influence and motivate a team
