An opportunity for a 3 month contract Fund Assistant has become available at our Support Centre in Kuilsriver. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be responsible for performing the death claim investigation process on behalf of the Trustees. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:To perform the death claim investigation process on behalf of the Trustees Section 37C imposes three duties on the board of trustees, namely to: a. Identify and trace “dependents” (as defined in section 1 of the Act) and those persons, if any, who have been nominated by the deceased member; by means of telephonic interviews b. Define the relationship to the deceased of each traced dependent c. Make benefit allocations on a fair and equitable basis taking into consider the dependency on the deceased d. Do a report to the trustees in a prescribed format to support the benefit distribution. e. Determine an appropriate mode of payment of the death benefit. Knowledge:• Computer literate with proven proficiency in MS Office (Word & Excel) • General Administration knowledge of claims processes and proceduresSkills:• High Levels of Computer literacy – advanced Word & Excel • Communication skills: (verbal and written) • Language: English, but preference will be given to the individual who speaks Xhosa or Zulu • Interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently as well as in a team • Attention to detail QUALIFICATIONS AND LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Essential:• Grade 12 Experience: • Previous Fund admin experience would be advantage Please submit your application on our careers site at www.ackermans.co.za.
